International Convention is looking to be meshuggeneh this year! The event will bring together teens from 60 countries, representing 750 communities. They will take part in panels with the Jewish community’s top teen leaders, celebrate Shabbat, watch live music performances, and—most importantly—connect with over 2,000 Jewish peers from around the world! 

That’s where Lost Tribe comes in.

We are proud to partner with BBYO four our fourth IC, and this will be our biggest event yet. Our extensive setup will include a media center, gaming lounge, shows, and geeky activities of all kinds. Throughout the convention we will be creating space for teens to make friends, be themselves, and create and share media about their experiences.

And that’s just the beginning.

We’ll be running the first-ever BBYO Global Gaming World Cup tournaments, giving teens a chance to represent their country in friendly competition with their peers—in Rocket League, FIFA, Beat Saber, and more. It’s just the start of a new teen leadership committee we are helping BBYO launch, to use gaming as a vehicle for teens to connect and program around throughout the Jewish world.

Lost Tribe college athletes are coming to IC for the first time, augmenting BBYO’s Sports Day activities with clinics and coaching. They will engage with teens through learning panels as well, sharing their experiences as students, athletes, and Jews in the college world today, and talking about everything from antisemitism on campus, to balancing school and sports, to what to do if your team wants to get matching tattoos.

The IC “Leads Day” event brings teens together with leading experts from a variety of fields to teach about career opportunities. Lost Tribe has curated a panel of pros from different areas of gaming, esports, and related industries for a panel discussion and breakout sessions with BBYO teens.

Lost Tribe’s media center and gaming lounge area will create an atmosphere for teens of all backgrounds and interests to hang out and have fun, offering tournaments, contests, video game-themed activities, nerdy trivia, drawing contests, a content creation area, and more. 

While our social media guru guy Izzy Salant told me that he was also hoping for skywriting and hotel-wide laser tag, I think you’ll soon find out that we have plenty of amazing things planned for IC attendees. 

“I’m hoping teens will continue to see what I see (get it? IC?) in Lost Tribe,” Salant told me. “They’ll find their community, our platforms will be flooded with teens having a blast, the world will see how amazing IC is, and what an impact Lost Tribe has, and we’ll continue on our path to building one million new Jewish friendships.” 

Salant knows a thing or two about these kinda things — he is a former USYer. And now it’s time to see what all the BBYO hype is about.
