Gaming Associate

Job Type: Part Time

Compensation: 10-15 hours per week, $17-19/hour

Position Overview: 

Lost Tribe is currently searching for a creative, knowledgeable and motivated individual to help grow our social media presence and to help in the administration of our events. The person hired will have great responsibility and influence on the content they create and will appear frequently in our short form video content. 

Responsibilities/Expectations:

• Create engaging and viral content for Lost Tribe Games Social pages
• Candidates should have a speciality in one or more of the following games:
  • Fortnite
  • Minecraft
  • Valorant
  • Clash Royale 
• Administer Tournaments and other discord events
• Attend weekly meetings with the gaming team to plan content and events
• Availability on the weekend and after work hours to ensure that events run smoothly
• Create community for Lost Tribe in the Discord
• Monitor Discord throughout the day and night, interacting daily
• Collaborate with marketing team and other departments to promote events
• Direct community members to tournament resources
• Create new Discord-based programming to engage members and increase key performance indicators such as number of total members, number of total messages sent, and number of minutes of voice chat

Qualifications

• Content creation experience
• Knowledge and experience in gaming and esports
• Knowledge of most console and PC-based video games; mobile-gaming knowledge a bonus
• Preferred, but not required to be knowledgeable of Jewish culture, community, and/or holidays
• Preferred, but not required to have experience working with teens

Minecraft SMP Moderator

Location: Remote
Start Date: Rolling
Job Type: Independent Contractor, 10 hours/week
Compensation: $15/hour start

Position Overview:
Lost Tribe is searching for a dedicated individual to join the Design and Development Department (DADD) as a moderator for the community’s Minecraft SMP. The moderator will play on this public server alongside preteens and teens from the Lost Tribe community, and enforce the server’s community rules. They will work with other members of DADD team to ensure players have a positive experience that meets Lost Tribe’s goals.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and play on Lost Tribe’s SMP
• Uphold and enforce community rules and address violations and player conflicts as needed
• Maintain an active presence in Lost Tribe’s Discord, especially in the Minecraft channel
• Work with colleagues to facilitate monthly in-game events
• Participate in testing new features as needed
• Foster a positive, fun environment for all
• Share feedback regularly with DADD team

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years old
• At least intermediate knowledge and experience with Minecraft Java Edition
• Access to a Minecraft Java Edition license & compatible device to play on
• Enthusiastic and engaging with preteens and teens; work experience as a CIT, camp counselor, youth group staff member, or teacher’s assistant a plus
• Familiarity with Judaism (culture, values, holidays, etc) and feel comfortable facilitating on this topic
• Availability during North American after-school hours and weekends required
• Hebrew proficiency is a plus
