NCAA Games to Watch This Weekend: Basketball & Football

NCAA Basketball Games to Watch

Gonzaga (1) @ Iowa (3)

Two heavyweight teams meet this Saturday in what is sure to be a good game. Iowa will make its first road trip of the season, while Gonzaga is playing their first game since December 2nd.  Both teams enter the night being undefeated, but only one will remain. I think Gonzaga has the upper hand, but it will come down to the final five minutes before they pull away.

Virginia (17) @ Villanova (7)

Another great matchup this Saturday as both teams travel to Madison Square Garden to face off.  Virginia is also coming off a significant break as their last game was on December 4th against Kent State. Look for Villanova to handle Virginia in this game as they are rolling after a win again Butler earlier this week.

Louisville (23) @ Wisconsin (12)

Louisville travels to Wisconsin early this Saturday. As the story continues to go, the Cardinals have not played a game since December 4th. This ultimately gives Wisconsin the upper hand with experience; look for the Badgers to take this one.

UNC (22) @ Ohio State (20)

An interesting matchup here as UNC has lost both of its games against ranked opponents this year. OSU may be in trouble with injuries to Seth Towns and EJ Lidell as well. This game, to me, comes down to whether or not OSU is healthy, if not I give the game to UNC.

NCAA Football Games to Watch

Alabama (1) @ Florida (7)

SEC Championship game this Saturday night. After an upset by LSU last week, I will have to assume the Gators will be going on a two game slide. Don’t count them out completely though as teams have been known in the past to have make-up games for said upsets.  Either way this should be an exciting matchup.

Clemson (3) @ Notre Dame (2)

ACC title on the chopping block for both teams in this showdown. Notre Dame won the last time they faced the Clemson Tigers, but remember that was without Trevor Lawrence behind center.  Notre Dame has been rolling since the victory, but I will have to chalk this one up to the tigers since Lawrence will be commanding his troops Saturday afternoon. This should be a must watch game for any college football fan out there.

Northwestern (14) @ Ohio State (4)

Ohio state will look to stay undefeated and claim their spot in the college football playoffs this week in their game against Northwestern. Though only playing 5 games this year, I believe OSU will handle Northwestern easily as Justin Fields is on an absolute tear, averaging close to 300 yards a game.

Oklahoma (10) @ Iowa State (6)

Rematch time in Iowa as Oklahoma looks to comeback from their loss to Iowa State earlier this year 37-30.  I am going to have to take the upset and give Oklahoma this victory in this one, a grudge match game if you will.
